Double checking your central locking has worked is essential due to thieves evolving new ways to carrie out car crime.

You can hear most central locking systems activate in most modern cars. Once activated from the key or key fob you can usually hear the double click within the car door or boot locking. So stay close to your vehicle and listen out for your central locking system activate.

Many vehicles come standard with central locking systems with flashing headlamps and indicators which gives you a visual indication you vehicle is locked. If yours is set up like this, make sure everything is working.

If you don’t get either of these activation signals, it could be a sign that your key fob isn’t working properly. which could mean your central locking system isn’t activating when it should, leaving your car unlocked and unprotected.
